Really are showing this from the beginning (no, I don't know why a reality TV channel are showing a programme about fairy tale monsters) so I thought I'd give it a shot, mostly for Silas Weir Mitchell who was great fun as Haywire in Prison Break.
So what if, instead of cancer (and then mysterious coma), it had been a car accident that had killed Aunt Marie, or something else sudden. It would have left Nick with strange superpowers and no knowledge of wtf was going on. And, given the nature of his powers, a one-way ticket to the nearest psych ward.
I get the need for mystery (and the ability to have a proxy so things can be explained to the audience) but seriously, if I was one of the last scions of whatever, and my power was going to be passed on, I'd be doing my damnedest to tell whoever so they didn't end up in severe trouble quickly. I mean, something like the Slayer where there's no way of telling (occasional magic notwithstanding), I could understand it, but where there is, not so much with the need for mystery.
It's workable enough, even if I'm only watching for Monroe. I also like the detective partner and the girlfriend (I'm sure these characters have names. I'm also sure the show hasn't made them very obvious yet.). Please don't kill them off, show.
