Mostly I am meh.

Let's be honest here, Cumberbund does not have the voice to do growly. Dear JJ et al., he can do plenty evil without growling.

Secondly

No, just no. At least 9/10ths of the punch of Wrath of Khan comes from having known those characters for years. You can't recapture that in two films. And killing off McCoy would also not work.

And if they're pretending this isn't a Khan re-hash, why are they making it look like one? Lying to your audience is not good. And unfortunately I have seen too many action movies to be impressed by generic stuff blowing up.

Whether Cumber turns out to be Khan or not, they've already soured me. They're prioritizing marketing over not looking like total assholes. Way to live up to the spirit of Trek. Urgh.

And yeah, there are indications they might recreate Spock's death scene and it's like... That was meaningful because of yeeeeears of history. Reboot has ONE movie where Kirk and Spock fought for 75% of it.

I'm about to post a longer post about your first point, more or less, and just in case I mis-phrase everything, I just want to say I agree totally.

And I agree even more with your second point. Unless they kill off their McCoy, which will not work either and make me deeply annoyed.

I just wish Star Trek 2 is two hours of Kirk and McCoy at the academy. I'M SHALLOW LIKE THAT.

I'm grabbing Final Resolution btw.

I'm sorry about the rest of Final Resolution.

I actually watched some of it. Austin Aries, I was pleased to find, is still as awesome as ever. I'm still really sad that he's not as hot as he used to be. But he's still pretty to look at in the ring.

I was happy to see Mickie James, too. She's looking really good.

As for AJ/Daniels... it was good, but I've seen better from them. I can't fault them though, because they really have wrestled each other SO many times. Like, it really is a good match. I enjoyed it. It's just hard to live up to the insanely high standard they've raised for themselves, ha. With that said, I really love the ending, the way Daniels countered the super Styles Clash, and then beat AJ with his own finisher. I haven't seen that ending from them before, especially the counter, so it was new and awesome and perfect to Daniels' character.

Oh, commentary is 115 matches. Which sounds about right lol.

I'm probably not gonna watch the rest of the PPV though, because wow I don't care about Jeff Hardy at all. The opening video package with him was fucking embarrassing. -_-

I think that's what annoys me most about this year's angle of much awful - I love Austin Aries, and I love Bully Ray, but I hate everything else about it.

Mickie looks awesome.

That's always going to be Daniels and AJ's problem, they've got so much to top. But at the same time, they don't really have bad matches. But yes, the ending. And Daniels's face at the end. To misquote Pirates of the Caribbean, there'll be no living with him now.

It's not that I dislike Hardy, it's that I like Bobby Roode, or rather, I think he's an exceptionally good heel. (Plus he needs to be champion when James Storm finally gets the belt again. Because vengeance will only be complete then.) Also, they had yet another screwy ending.
