Politics And TNA

The whole PCC thing (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-19504639) is stupid, and monstrously wrong at the same time. The police shouldn't be beholden to people, they should be beholden to the law. The law and it's processes are what separates justice from vengeance.
I ended up spoiling my ballot, because I realised my disapproval of the idea was that strong that even if a candidate who was the second coming of Jesus and Robocop combined had stood I couldn't have voted for them.
A couple of people said that they didn't approve of the idea either but they were voting along party lines anyway. And that strikes me as being part of the problem. A lot of the candidates were just random politicos and it's not as though they know any more (or indeed, any less) than what I know about policing. You know who does know about policing - police officers, judges, social workers, other people who work in that field. And I don't believe those professions were represented in anything like large enough numbers, even counting the independent candidates.

Seriously, that was a lacklustre PPV despite the efforts of the usual suspects.
Also TNA, do you know how little I like being right about the stupidity of your booking. That being said, an AJ heel turn would at least be something a bit different.

Basically AJ ate the pin at the Turning Point, where the winner got a title shot and the pinned person can't have a title shot until at least Turning Point next year. There was a certain level of (understandable) grr argh-iness in his promo immediately afterwards.
