Robbie Hunter-Paul made the best Freudian slip re: this England team. He called it the Wigan team. Which it basically is. I know Roby and Wilkin are two of the ones that are sitting it out for injury/general tiredness related reasons, but, given that McNamara has put out an A minus team without any of Makison, Foster (even if he's basically at Hull now) or Lomax, I don't think I'm being paranoid. I suspect none of the Saints babies are going to get much of a look in under this regime. Which I ought to be selfishly grateful for, because fewer matches mean fewer injuries, but at the same time, I want the world to see how awesome our babies are.
That and I expect a sudden finding of Irish grandparents to occur. It's amazing how often Saints players have Irish grandparents.
Oh hells bells, Gareth Ellis is playing for Hull next season. (I know it's because he's now too slow for the NRL, but he's still damn good.)
Against a better side (no offense intended towards Wales, they're young and learning), England would be pulverised. So many mistakes.

Les Ferdinand made probably the best statement on the John Terry thing that I've heard. Some minor paraphrasing but "I've struggled with the is John Terry a racist thing. But John Terry definitely made a racist comment." And that's the thing, when you say x is a racist, people always imagine pitchfork wielding ku klux klan type. And John Terry isn't like that. But what he said was racist. You know how I know that. When he's up against say Martin Skrtel*, does he call him "a white cunt"? No, he just calls him a cunt. That's where the racism comes in. And I don't see how people can't see that.
*Martin Skrtel is picked at random.

Now that's what I call racing. All hail Alonso! (Even if I'm boo-hissing at his Newey-related mind-games. Vettel [and Webber] are plenty good. Although that car is a star.)
I seriously start to think someone has cursed Schumacher.
Shut up Coulthard, there's no need to take such joy in Schumacher's misfortunes.
Also, from yesterday's qualifying, dear Coulthard, as someone who suffered from bulemia, I would have thought you'd be less judgemental about people's weight re: your comments about Kimi.
The BBC's pro-Brit bias is showing again - Button is taken out by Saubers. All the fault of the Saubers and they should be punished. Schumacher is taken out by Vergne. A mistake, but they happen. And the constant nit-picking of Perez's driving since he signed for McLaren is bad.
Oh shut up Coulthard.
Well done on that pitstop McLaren.
Oh Ferrari, do not feck up Massa's race because of fuel.
Poor Webber is having KERS issues.
De La Rosa's having terrible brake issues. Dear HRT, fix your brakes.
Perez can't tell the Toro Rosso's apart either.
Ferrari's radio messages are in Itaglish. It's wonderful.
Dear Ferrari, be grateful that Massa ran out of fuel after the flag, not before. (Sorry, I am not sane on the topic of Felipe-baby.)

Like everyone else I know, I am convinced I have a novel in me (or at least a couple of novellas of dubious quality), but I was stuck so I took some advice from
saruwatari, and set myself the task of writing 100 words of it a day. And it's working. So thanks for the advice.

The numbers (of hits) on AOOO (which will send you crazy) also give you some interesting information. For instance, I had a huge jump in the number of hits for Walking In These Shoes, which was because I got a rec from beth_h (for which I am immensely grateful). And Skyfall has lead to an uptick in hits on Let Slip The Dogs of War.
I fear the increase in the number of hits for the fics with Stacy Kiebler are to do with her famous boyfriend. Which makes me a bit eek! because I don't know if I've made it clear enough that I write about Stacy Kiebler (TM) rather than the lady herself.
