Mar. 26th, 2003 06:51 pmTOTP2 was just on and the Kinks were on singing "Days". I love that song. And in fact I love their music. 'Cause any band that can write 'Days', 'Self Preservation Society', 'Lola', 'Sunny Afternoon,', 'Waterloo Sunset' and some that I have undoubtedly forgotten are rather good.
Paul McCartney has the cutest backing band. Both bass player and guitarist are rather yum.
Talking about backing bands, Dark Star have reformed (again) but are undoubtedly without record label. Last time they split up, the vocalist/guitarist ended up being part of the Pet Shop Boys' backing band.
There's a really cool advert for Radio 2, which basically involves Michael Stipe singing 'Great Beyond' a capella. Such a beautiful voice.
But with both REM and the Kinks, it's a case of love the music, but not considering myself a huge fan of the band. Which sounds a little crazy.
