Heel Bobby Roode is a thing of malicious beauty. I love how frustrated Sting is at being unable to do anything about him.

I'm not going to suggest Crimson and Matt Morgan are dumb, but Sting was able to manipulate them.

I'm torn on whether I need to hand in my X-division fan card, I mean the Aries/Kash vs Spanky/Sorenson tag match was my favourite match of the night, but I am all asquee over the Morgan/Crimson tag team, despite hating randomly thrown together tag teams. Mostly because they're such bash brother type boys. I <3 far, far too much.

Given how often I criticise him, I want to be fair and say how much the Storm shower knockout thing is good Russo writing, all shades of grey and character interaction and paranoia. Just because they're good guys doesn't mean that people like each other!

Bjork was awesome on Jools yesterday. Sadly I fear that RHCP have fallen into the dread pit of mid-life crisis, in particular Anthony Kiedis.

Jools's interview with Noel Gallagher hit new heights of terrible, even for a Jools interview.

My left wrist appears to have gone on strike. Most annoying!

Day 18 - A book that disappointed you

Somewhat related to my answer to favourite female character, I'd like to nominate The Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman. I think part of the problem was the hype, where it was sold to me as 'Narnia without the dodgy subtexts'. Housemate is a huge fan and lent me Northern Lights. Now I'm not sure if 23 is the wrong age to be reading it (which could be the problem), but I wasn't enchanted.

It's not that there weren't things I liked, like the belly laugh I got from Pope John Calvin (and also the blank looks me and D got when were talking about it, followed by D's comment of 'idiot Brits' (some paraphrasing involved). I miss D.) and the polar bears. I am pro-polar bears in fiction.

The problem was that the rest of it dragged. It had no go forward, to the point where I was skimming through it to get to the next part with the polar bears.

Which is a shame because the whole thing is right up my alley, cowboys with airships, mysterious witches, visible souls ... I should be lapping that up, but mostly I was bored.
