Covert Affairs

Guys, could I ask you a favour, exactly how cancelled is Covert Affairs, I'd look it up but I fear spoilers.

I also fear it's the show that replaced my beloved Human Target so I feel I'm cheating on it by even liking Covert Affairs and yet ... come on, it has a female lead character who is a kick ass linguist. How am I not going to enjoy it.

Yes, it's hideously obvious and the pilot in particular suffered from whichever script law which is that no speaking character is not vital to the plot but I'm willing to give it a go.

But I need to know how emotionally invested I ought to get because

if Annie and Auggie don't get together in the end, I will grumble, a lot. In the space of one episode I have zoomed past shipper all the way through to veritable tin-hattiness.

They're adorable and snarky and they have the same taste in music ... did I mention adorable.?

I do not care if mysterious spy guy is her soulmate from across the stars. He is not Auggie.





I also don't care for the Joan and Arthur Campbell subplot. Because really, I am over the whole "successful middle aged women are all crazy" thing. Totally over it.



Also the stunts and the fight scenes are well done.

In RL, it turns out that the interview didn't go as badly as I made it sound because I got the job. It's a three year position, which is not bad in the present economic climate.

I also managed to get an apology out of the friend mentioned a couple of posts ago. He hadn't even noticed that what he'd said was insulting. The boy is stupid, rocks should probably be thrown at him.

Covert Affairs as in with Piper Perabo? It's been renewed for a third season. Sounds like it's going pretty strong. It's also a USA Network show, while Human Target was on Fox, so Human Target's cancellation had nothing to do with Covert Affairs. Enjoy away without guilt. :)

That's the one. And while I am happy about 3 seasons, I fear I may explode with unfulfilled shippiness long before then, because the only show I know where romance was part of the set up that didn't drag it out for longer than is humanly possible was Chuck.

I think it's as close to an apology as I'm going to get. Even his mother admits that he's lacking in some of the social graces. The reason she likes me is because I'll yell at him when he does something like this.
