My glorious return to open fencing was somewhat dented by me going out in the quarters, but the person I lost to went on to win, so it's not too bad.

My left ankle isn't speaking to me any more, mind you, which could be a bad thing, and my back is suffering from me reworking my whole style and my en-garde, but they'll get used to it.

Finally got round to watching 'Was Tun, Wenn's Brennt?' (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0207198/) which was fun. I particularly liked the music because for once, and it may well be the only time that anyone has actually used a Manics tune properly in a soundtrack. They used 'The Everlasting' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeU_qC5tBOE&ob=av2e which is one of the top 3 tracks off 'This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours' and it was like the person in charge of the soundtrack had actually listened to the track. It's says something that it takes a German film to do that. I have no idea what it is about the Manics that makes soundtrack editors make lazy decisions, but yeah, if I never hear 'Australia' used for the Australian Open again, it'll be a good thing (Australia the song [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG3fou1E6os&ob=av2n] is not about Australia the place) and if I find out which lazy twit decided that Stay Beautiful (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hM_oov3dU6A&ob=av2e) was the right song for a swearing, angry football managers montage, I will give him a tongue-lashing to last the ages.

The whole Warren Gatland mess is so typical of the man. I don't like him for a reason. He's still the same idiot who once said that Wales would rather beat Ireland than England (which Tommy Bowe of all people managed to blow out of the water by going 'I hadn't noticed that [he was playing for the Ospreys at the time]). Because admitting you were thinking of cheating is such a stupid manoeuvre because it's so blatantly going 'we want a pat on the back for obey rules' while showing you're not fair, else you wouldn't have thought of doing it, but you've not got the gumption/wherewithal/drive to cheat.

As in previous answers to this sort of thing, I don't tend to grow out of books. I think that's because when you love a book it's because it resonates with you, and even if you change so it doesn't sing the same way any more, there's a nostalgia there for when it did.
