Snooker and Meme

Snooker - much is being made of this being the first all-Chinese final of a major. I live in hope this means that there will be a minimum of the kind of commentary that verges on 'jolly inscrutable, these Orientals'. The advantages of Stephen Hendry being on commentary is that, as Marco Fu was his training partner for a while, he just commentates on the snooker. It's mostly the older commentators who cause me to face-palm, but they do get pretty chronic.

On to happier matters (because I will be sad no matter who loses the snooker), a meme pinched from
saruwatari.
Tell me a pairing (current fandoms, former fandoms, whatever), and I will tell you:
1. When or if I started shipping them:
2. What I think their challenge is:
3. What makes me happy about them:
4. What makes me sad about them:
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
7. My happily ever after for them:

Date: 2011-02-05 07:56 pm (UTC)1. When or if I started shipping them: I think it might well have been you, Missy, because I don't think they ever really interacted on screen, unless my memory is getting worse. I think it's because they're actually quite old-fashioned, quaint characters. Because even when they're both heels, they're very ... I'm not sure what the word I want is, but they're very well behaved. There are lines they won't cross.
They're also a really cute pairing. Not sugary sweet, but sort of adorable.
2. What I think their challenge is:
There's the little matter of one of them having a mean streak a mile long and three miles wide, while the other one is nice as pie, mostly. And not in the 'good girls want to rehabilitate bad boys' way, but in a basic difference in values sort of way.
3. What makes me happy about them:
Did I mention that they're sweetly adorable? I think it's that they're quiet in the same way. Loud pauses and all that.
4. What makes me sad about them: Other than a distinct lack of WWE screen time for both of them. Not much.
5. What moment I wish had never happened: Although I suppose there are advantages to a lack of screen time, since wrestler plus valet normally leads to a break-up of the most unplesant kind.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I think that's the thing, it's a 'ship that I can happily view as being gen and best friends forever instead of being romantic. I'd be happy for Molly to end up with Spike. Or in a Golden Age Comics AU with the Hurricane.
7. My happily ever after for them: Is quite suburban, all two up two down and a front garden with picket fences. She helps out with local youth groups and other charitable causes and goes off to do good works. He potters around the garden, growing things and drinking tea and thinking deep contented thoughts and plots the take-over of the parish council (or rather, the US equivalent).

....I now want this to happen. I wrote a terrible parody about that a long time ago but I want a GOOD version of it.
...And I can totally picture their happily ever after. It feels like a Britcom <3.
