Please bear in mind that this was all watched with Dutch commentary and Dutch is a language I cannot speak. Also, I saw none of the women's, which makes me sad because I love Beth Tweddle (she and Dan Purvis are walking examples of the saying, if you want something done, send a Northener). I also didn't get to see a lot of the men's finals.
All that being said
1) What happened to the US in the men's team event?
2) I think I have a new sweetheart in the men's, David Belyavskiy.
3) Or possibly Myckola Kuksenkov. Or Sergey Khorokhodin. Let's be honest here, I watching all of them, but I particularly like the style of the Russians (and the former USSR states) and the Japanese gymnasts. I hereby admit my biases. I mean, Philip Boy is tremendously pretty, especially now that he doesn't look like a 15 year old any more, but I don't like his style.
4) I'm out of the loop, what happened to the Romanian men?
5) Uchimura is awesome, the high bar performance that won him the all around especially.
6) A lot of the athletes are getting awfully tall for the apparatuses, particularly the parallel bars, so I'm wondering what happens if average height increases to a point where average height increases to a point where the apparatus dimensions have to change. Is there anything in the rules to allow for that?
Point seven if only semi-related, I think I have found my Khorkina of the rhythmic gymnastics. Her name is Chrystalleni Trikomiti and oh she was so much better than her Commonwealth results suggest.
TV Meme - Day 29 - Latest TV show obsession
You may have noticed my high pitched and squeaky posts about Sherlock. There will, eventually, be a high pitched, squeaky, excessively detailed recap of episode 3. It's just one of those shows that plays to the things I like, particularly Sherlock himself.
This is not one of these blind, oblivious loves, the second episode was chronically bad in parts, but it's pretty total.
