For many reasons, but today's reason comes from the blurb they've put out for today's stage (Le Cap d'Agde - Perpignan) -

"The stage is dedicated to Salvador Dali, who called the Perpignan railway station the “cosmogonic centre of the universe”. The icon of surrealism, who was touched by a form of fascination for the spectacle of cycling, created the 1959 Tour’s postcard. If his influence inspires the pack in the Corbières or along the seaside, anything will be possible."

Sport and culture :)

Other than that, reasonably pleased so far, even if I think Contador is a dimwit if he ever thought that Astana would cycle for him in preference to Armstrong. Also Cancellara may be Swiss but he is still awesome.

The Salvador Dali museum is just a couple hours from where I grew up; it houses the largest collection of his work anywhere. It's really, really amazing stuff to see. The paintings are huge, like the size of an entire wall, and there's so much within the paintings themselves to see.

Ooh. I have to admit my knowledge of Dali is severely lacking, but that sounds cool.
