Buffy for Missy
Buffy
1 - People who say Xander has nothing to do after season 3 are blatantly watching a different show to me. He single-handedly saves the world twice, helps the others save the world at least another two times, gets a job, a life and nearly gets married. I think there's more character stuff for Xander in the later seasons, he certainly gets to be more than just the sarcastic comic relief, and yeah, he doesn't get the main girl despite being much better than all her various boyfriends (poss. exception being Riley) but there's far more to him than that.
2 - Spike is roughly 1000 x better than Angel.
3 - That being said, there's a reason Buffy and Spike didn't work out. And really, no matter how much post-series twisting you do, they never will work out.
3b - Riley is not a bad guy. He gets very good character development - of course someone who's been brought up 1) by v. traditional, probably conservative farmers in Iowa and 2) to be the best of the best, sir (or ma'am as it is in his case) is going to have problems with his girlfriend being tougher than he is. Riley would be perfect boyfriend material for anyone that wasn't Buffy. I still want a Riley of my own.
3b2 - I know As You Were was a useless episode but it pleases me to see Riley happy and over Buffy.
