I don't even like either team but gosh, penalties are a horror for all concerned. Kindoftrouble will tell you exactly how badly I deal with them.

Edit: So glad I didn't watch Terry's penalty. I can't stand seeing him upset. At the same time, so glad Edwin didn't lose again. I have loved Edwin for slightly too long. And Ronaldo makes me want to cuddle him, and oh Terry.

Penalties are just horrible! They are almost unwatchable.

Ronaldo made me want to cuddle him too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants to give John Terry a hug. Poor guy looked devastated.

And damn, I try so hard to hate Ronaldo but I can't bring myself to. I just want to pinch his cheeks.

Seriously, upset Terry is my kryptonite. I can't stand it. The look on his face when they were waiting for United to go and pick up their medals...

I don't like Ronaldo. I think he's a smug, smarmy git who needs to be tackled harder and more often. Dashed if I don't have a soft spot for him somewhere though.

It's the sick feeling in my stomach I can't stand. As this is for two teams I don't like. I hate penalties, they're sick and wrong.

You could see how much it all meant to Terry, it was written all over his face, and it was so genuine. The fact that he missed must be killing him.

I cheered when Ronaldo missed. If I could have picked any Man Utd player to miss I would have picked him but as soon as they showed him lying on the pitch while everyone else was celebrating I melted. He's a vain but precious little prick and that's probably why I sometimes like him.

Terry is becoming Stuart Pearce mark 2. This is not a good sign.

Ronaldo does love Man Utd. Loyalty is his most redeeming feature. Possibly his only one.

Pearce was never the same after his penalty misses. Hopefully Terry will get some perspective and not blame it all on himself - the luck was with Man Utd (as always) and at least he didn't get sent off.

Oh yeah, you can see that Ronaldo does put his heart into the club. I think he's so genuinely unlikeable that it almost pushes him into the likeable category, as strange as that sounds. A bit like the evil heel you can't bring yourself to completely hate because he's so good at being a dick.

I've got Pearce's autobiography and it's so good. I particularly like one quote. His wife, having been put through yet another agonising penalty shoot out, asks why it's always him, and his logic is brilliant. He couldn't ask a mate to do it in case he missed because that feels so terrible. I don't think I have enough words to describe the love I have for that man.
