Torchwood and the Punisher

Okay, so I saw it last week on BBC3 so I didn't watch it all again, because, well it hurts, because, let us be honest, in some terrifying way, Owen Harper is about as close to how I am as any TV character is going to get. And he really didn't have a good day. Also rather terrifyingly, he's far nicer than me because he didn't poison Jack, because while I think I understand what Jack was up to (Torchwood - where we prefer you to have breakdowns because it means you've not been taken over by an alien entity) damned if I didn't want to hit him.
I loved the glowy pink rock of joy, which was so nice. I like the idea of the aliens saying hello back.
Richard Briers was fantastic but this is not unexpected. So was whoever played Maggie.
Then the Punisher was on. The Thomas Jane one. I missed the first half hour but the rest was good. I love that they got the whole thing that Frank Castle really didn't live there anymore. But yes, very well done even John Travolta. I loved how sneaky the Punisher was being to beat him and the reveal at the end.
And I really enjoyed how they did the one-liners, which would be triumphalistic in any other superhero film, they just fall flat, but deliberately, because they get that Frank Castle is a vigilante.
I loved the freaks and weirdoes on his side, and that they didn't talk. Housemate, the one who never gets anything, didn't get why they'd go through all that pain for someone they didn't know. I fear I shall never understand the housemate.
