Dec. 30th, 2002 01:55 amDamn you Boromir for being so stupidly idiotic and for never listening to a word anyone tells you. Particularly when it's Gandalf, Elrond and Galadriel who have been around a lot longer and know what they are talking about.
Damn you for being so brave, courageous and so damn bloody noble.
Damn you for not having the decency to be a one dimensional character. You have no right to be so stubborn, so noble, so stupid, so brave, so human and so utterly heartbreaking.
Damn you for that look when you see Narsil, for every time you see Aragorn, for the council, for the fight scenes, for you being nice to the hobbits, for what you say and how much you mean it.
Damn you for being so human that I can't scream at you for trying to take the ring. You meant well, I know, but arggh.
Most importantly, damn you for not staying alive and getting home to the White City.
(As an explanation, I'm going seeing TTT tomorrow. So I watched FOTR again. Guess what happened. I love and hate Boromir with every fibre of my silly being. That he and the rest are fictional characters means nothing. I would like to congratulate Peter Jackson et al for bringing so many lifelike characters to the screen, and with limited time giving them all so many quirks and intricacies that they are real to me.)
