1) Was 2007 a good year for you?
It was interesting. Not sure if it was good, bad or indifferent. I got my first national ranking points in fencing, and got some results for my PhD, but not as many as I would have wanted and my first year report was an ungodly disaster.
2) What was your favorite moment of the year?
First row balcony for the Manics.
3) What was your least favorite moment of the year?
The eviseration my first year report got.
4) Where were you when 2007 began?
St. Helens
5) Who were you with?
Probably just the family. I really don't remember so it can't have been that exciting.
6) Where will you be when 2007 ends?
At Uncle Ste's, just been invited today. It will either be wonderful or a disaster.
7) Who will you be with when 2007 ends?
Uncle Ste and Philip, maybe other family members.
8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2007?
Yes, kind of, given that I'm keeping the same resolutions, it may not have gone as well as I thought.
9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2007?
Be more organised. Be kinder to all.
10) Did you fall in love in 2007?
Can we just avoid the whole sticky mess my private life has turned into recently.

No.

There's been more baby fencers, and some more randoms. This is how I meet people. Also Laura.

Laura. Danny's new girlfriend. He has been warned that I will try to steal her if I can ;)
18) What was your favorite month of 2007?
July. Manics, Mez's wedding, the London comp. All good and shiny, also my first conference.
19) Did you travel outside of the US in 2007?
Changing that to the UK since I don't live in the US. Yes, Hamburg and Prague. Also Scotland, but I'm not sure that counts as a separate country.
20) How many differentstates counties did you travel to in 2007?
I've been all over England, so most of them, with the possible exception of Cornwall and the rest of the South coast (with the exception of Devon).
21) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2007?
Thankfully not.
22) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
Babs and Katie, Salmon and Sam, the usual, Stu for the latter part of the year.
23) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2007?
Probably 300.
24) What was your favorite song from 2007?
Rather horrifyingly possibly 'Beautiful Girls' by Sean Kingston. Or 'The Way I Are' by Timbaland. Maybe 'Hey There Delilah' by the Plain White Ts.
25) What was your favorite record from 2007?
Send Away the Tigers by the Manics. Which I doubt is an unexpected answer.
26) How many concerts did you see in 2007?
Three. The Manics (front row balcony), Idlewild and Kula Shaker.
27) Did you have a favorite concert in 2007?
The Manics. Again, sorry for by obviousness, but they were so damn solid and 20 metres away, and they'd remembered that they're a rock band and eeee!
28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2007?
Yes and no. Less than as an undergraduate, more than last year, far too much on two occasions. Also, I had absinthe for the first time. Never again (unless it's the proper stuff with wormwood). It burnt.
29) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2007?
Nope.
30) How many people did you sleep with in 2007?
0
31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
Not really. Getting caught playing games on the computer by various and sundry wasn't exactly bright though.
33) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2007?
I think I've been pretty good. That I tend to be more a liar by omission than by actually coming out with whoppers.
34) Did you treat somebody badly in 2007?
Didier. He's totally included in my list of people I'm not to lose my rag with next year.
35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2007?
Yes, but she left in October so it's not a problem.
36) How much money did you spend in 2007?
Enough but not too much.
37) What was your proudest moment of 2007?
Presenting at a conference.
38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2007?
That I seem to be incapable of not attracting poor unfortunate teenage boys.
39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2007 and change something, what would it be?
Actually worked harder in Jan-Feb, I'd have more data that way.
40) What are your plans for 2008?
Avoid PhD flunkage. Sort out love-life. Just the usual.
Although I think I may prefer the version that Frala has, and I may do that one next week.

My favorite story this year: Paris, Manchester. Just it makes me squishy. It started as a writing exercise to try and do something to do with a specific location rather than my usual locations of Somewhere, Idaho, which might as well be somewhere, New York or Somewhere, Mars, (also, the Skokie, Illinois joke has to be getting old by now) and ended up as a practical guide on how to woo Red Fiona (looking like Sylvain helps).
My best story this year: Cannot Kiss has nothing wrong with it, but it's short, there's not a lot that can go wrong with it, possibly Please, Sir! which is much longer and seemed to work well.
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Feeling That Just Won't Quit. For pete's sake, I'm finally writing a semi-popular pairing, and still nothing. Feeling possibly engendered by the difficulty of writing Shelley.
Most fun story: Please, Sir! by a long way. It's happy smut.
Most sexy story: Hath a Tongue, totally. Smut, in my bestest attempt at Shakespearean English.
Story with single sexiest moment: This is where I have this problem in not finding my own writing hot. I have good reports for moments in Serotonin Rush.
Hardest story to write: Us Against the World, there's a reason why I tend to avoid writing my OTPs, because I can't ever match up to what's on screen/written/just there, and it annoys me. Also, Bordeaux isn't Marsailles, a small fact I neglected to remember until the 4th draft.
"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: Please, Sir! Florton, a pairing that has a 30 ish year age gap between them anyway, and I write them as schoolboy and schoolmaster. This is totally the fic I was thinking of when I said there'd be something 'wrong' from me next year last time I did this.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: No Going Back - I'm now totally a movieverse Storm/Beast 'shipper, which is a bit weird since it's gen fic.
Biggest disappointment: Of All Possible Worlds, but I'm not surprised, it's a fix-it, it was never going to work for me, since I don't like them, but damn it, Spiderman 3 needed fixing.
Biggest surprise: Please, Sir! I wasn't told it was icky or that I was going to hell at any point.
Most unintentionally telling story: Seratonin Rush - Randy's kink in that is so very much mine.
