Last year's were kind of interesting, especially since the answer I gave to Missy was the total and honest truth because that was going to be the title of the rest of Val's story in the West Wing AU.

Icon meme - Reply to this post, and I will tell you my favorite icon of yours. Then post this to your own journal using your own favorite icon, if you feel like it. Mostly because this is totally just an excuse for me to wander round other people's icons and look at the shiny and cool things.

Despite Sylvan being the main character, Rob Conway is actually the POV character. He's pretty much constantly amazed when he travels with Sylvan because he's still impossibly snooty and drives through Oklahoma like a man possessed, but tries to spend as much time in Kansas as he can get away with, despite what he says during promos, because, and this is where Rob's amusment grows, Sylvan has a huge love and appetite for apple fritters.

They're in one particular diner, and Sylvan being Sylvan and their gimmick being what it was, they're in the middle of an insult-fest with some truckers, when Edna Mae, owner of said truck-stop, comes out with a plate heaped high with apple fritters, and clutches him to her busom and declaims him to be her favourite customer. That's the point where Rob falls off his chair with laughter.

Some author's notes: My google-fu failed me when it came to finding out any typically Oklahoman foods, so if there's any you'd care to recommend, I'm all ears.

First there are shenanigans that stop Jimmy from travelling with his usual travelling partner, Jamie Noble, and he has to travel with JBL instead. As you can imagine there's a lot of squabbling and tension, and JBL generally being an ass.

As they're travelling through New Mexico they hit upon a rodeo and basically JBL triple dog dares Jimmy to have a go, and can't resist having a go himself, despite his back, and they generally have a whale of a time. JBL starts, grouchily, moving towards vaguely liking Jimmy, a direction which is sealed when they have a bar fight when some hicks decide to have a go at JBL, at which point JBL makes it known that he's the only one who gets to do that.

There is macho bonding and JBL may swap hats with Jimmy at some point. There are dusty tracks that lead into the sunset.

It's Jacqueline/James Storm, with distinct hints of Jacqueline/JBL and Jacqueline/Farooq but it's really more gen than anything else. It's all about how Jacqueline feels that times are changing, and she feels left behind because when she started everyone was like James, but now they've all cleaned up their acts. She takes Bradshaw as an example, and how he's changed, and there's no outlaws in wrestling any more, except her and James, and that's why she came.

Frost on a Daisy - is Lita gen fic, where she's trying to decide what to do with her life, because she's just heard that Trish is retiring, and she doesn't know what to do with herself, because she knows that Trish is her defining opponent, and what with everything that's happened to her in the last couple of years, and because women's wrestling is more youth and looks obsessed than men's wrestling and she's starting to feel old compared to Mickie and Maria and everyone else, she's starting to weary of all the travelling. She still loves wrestling, it's everything else she's gone sour on, and she's deciding what to do next.
