Dr. Who - was good. So much better than I expected, and far, far better than last week. You'd better be watching who you call a tin dog, Mickey.

Actually, I'm very, very worried about Mickey's chances of surviving next week. Dear Russell T, you are not allowed to kill Mickey off, I like him. Lots. He's sweet, and useless, but damn if he doesn't try his best.

Rose is still a cow - sorry, but she was mean to Mickey again - but less slapable this week.

That was what was really good about this week's, people were thinking on their feet and not just relying on the Doctor. Who I want to hug again.

Sarah Jane rocked like a rocking thing - even if the show proved that women only call each other sister after they've called each other a lot worse things before. Also on the rocking front - Anthony S. Head as the bad guy. Who wasn't actually entirely evil, and oh did any scene with him and the Doctor pay off like woah!

But then again, both Sarah Jane and ASH tend to rock hard.

I presume the over-all message they were trying to convey was that the ability to say no, even to things we want a lot, is a very powerful ability.

Dracula 2000 is nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be. In fact, I'd say it was better than Underworld. Because it made sense, and the vampires were stronger than people. And dude, seriously, the lead good guy was so sensible. He had no idea what to do so he improvised and did his best. Seriously, if I had to make up a crack vampire fighting team, he'd be on it.

I mean, I still stick to my guns and say that Gerard Butler doesn't have enough charisma to be a leading man (or indeed to play Dracula) but the rest of it was fun.

Decent cast too, seeing how parts of it were Toronto pretending to be New Orleans. Christopher Plummer and Nathan Fillon were lurking in the support cast.

Political adverts

Not actually politics which is why it's not filtered, that, and it's kind of amusing.

Basically, for the local election campaign, Labour indulged in a little negative campaigning, presenting the Conservative leader as a chameleon, willing to say anything for votes. This may have backfired slightly - the British public not being entirely fond of negative campaigning.

And then there is the fact that Dave the Chameleon is a lot cuter than David Cameron, the Tory leader, who is the traditional Tory chinless wonder.

Pictorial evidence:

Dave the chameleon - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
and Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Which would you rather vote for?

Football

Oh boy, are England ever screwed. If it didn't involve injuries I would be cheering.

As it is, it's quite nice to see West Ham's old boy's team win the premiership - to explain, I have a friend who is a West Ham fan who finds it quite galling that a lot of the present Chelski side used to play for West Ham, only West Ham, at the time, went down and now with Chelski they've won stuff.
