CSI Miami and TNA
Jan. 12th, 2006 12:42 amIt's all a bit Florida ;)
One of the CSI episodes was a Speedle episode, and everyone knows, I love Speedle. Mainly because like me he is naturally scruffy. Like put him in neat and tidy clothes and they will still rumple for that is his superpower (even if he did look tidy at one point in this ep because he was in a suit). Anyway, the really interesting thing he said was how it wasn't a vocation for him, it was a job. Which is refreshing amidst everyone else being all 'no, this is my holy calling'. Of course the episode did go all 'oh no, it isn't, he's just being all "cool" about it', although it could be pointed out that there are other ways of spinning it, which is that he doesn't like seeing people he knows getting killed and that he prides himself on doing a good job, but my problems with the CSI:Miami writers are many.
TNA meanwhile was the Impact before Turning Point and the 1hr Spike TV special. I had fun!
Really did love the 4LK bit. Sorry, I'm a sucker for happy endings especially the bit where Konnan is won over.
Okay, so you may hit me for not noticing this before, but Christian can really work a crowd.
I love Mike Tenay's expression whenever he has to deal with Jarrett.
No, Jeff, the crowd really didn't need to see the Rhyno video in order to cheer for him. At this point HHH could turn up to face you and they'd probably cheer for him. It has to be said that at this point my Nan did ask if there was going to be any wrestling or was it all going to be back-biting?
I love hearing James Mitchell talk.
Question - is Raven a good guy at the minute or a bad guy? I'm confused. Was pleased to see Cassidy Riley run in to save him when Diamonds in the Rough were beating him up in the Clockwork Orange House of Fun type match (or whatever it's called).
Do Diamonds in the Rough serve a purpose other than to randomly beat people up?
I saw Jarrett get slapped, twice, I'm happy.
AMW being interviewed by Mike (?) Taylor was fun.
I love the idea of AJ Styles challenging Samoa Joe because he went against the ethos of the X-division even though it was Christopher Daniels, AJ's greatest rival, that he beat up.
Did the thing of Alex Shelley video-taping other people's matches go anywhere, or is it in the process of going somewhere, I ask only since I'll be back at uni by the time they show anything beyond Turning Point.
I really don't like the idea of barb-wire ring matches.
I shall leave you with my Nan's other classic comment - Rhyno, at his scariest, was the end image of the programme, and she comes out with "He looks just like Peter Brown". I have to admit to never having met Peter Brown, he merely features in a few of my family's odder annecdotes but somehow I doubt he was quite that scary.
As a bonus I also caught a little of an ROH show the short notes being:
Jack Evans is fun, and that Jamie Noble (James Gibson, whatever he's calling himself now) looks good with a beard. American Dragon (sorry his name has escaped me again), however, doesn't.
They showed part of a shoot interview with Samoa Joe and CM Punk and it was fun. I am all aww! over how nice Samoa Joe is.

Date: 2006-01-12 02:25 am (UTC)Me. Too. Omg he's so smooth and eloquent. And like, he uses these big words and fancy phrasing, but they suit him. It's like with Daniels and his promos. They never seem like they're raiding the thesaurus.
Raven isn't a good guy or a bad guy. He's just crazy.
Shelley taping people is hopefully going somewhere. So far, he's just... taping people.
American Dragon = Bryan Danielson.
I really want to get that Joe/Punk shoot. It looks awesome.

>>American Dragon = Bryan Danielson.<< Thank you.
>>I really want to get that Joe/Punk shoot. It looks awesome.<< The bit they showed was really cool. They were talking about how WWE seems only to be after a particular look of person and how this was affecting the product. But it wasn't bitchy, it was analytical, because they were also saying how good the WWE was at certain things. And about how they knew some people who'd gone to WWE and had a great time (John Cena, and then Samoa Joe was generally bigging him up) but they knew far more who had had a hellish time.
There was also a bit about how they'd both gone to a trainning session (if that's what you call them) with Jushin Liger (my spelling, it is bad) and how cool he was.
