Due to recent WWE news I am taking myself off to a happier place. My happier place at present in TNA.
I've been sitting on this until a rainy day when I had nothing to say, this counts as an emergency.
Now that was a cool opening.
Petey Williams v Elix Skipper - I'm still getting WCW flashbacks when I see Skipper and get hideously confused at Team Canada v Team Canada.
I love how Don West is all "Team Canada are that good that they shouldn't need to cheat."
Such love for both of their wrestling.
Can I just express my utter love for Petey Williams? Because I love how he actually moves out of the way of other people's moves to counter them.
From the flashbacks - Jeff Hammond was facing David Young, was the result ever in doubt? Poor David Young.
Dear TNA, why did you waste two of your better cruiserweights on the Nascar match? Also as a fan of motor sports, I have to side with Shazarian - Nascar isn't a motor sport! If there are no turns it isn't a sport. I could bloody well drive a Nascar car. PS: Mike Piazza agrees with me.
Aww, Trinity is so protective of Dusty. It's kind of sweet.
How long do security take?
Much love for James Storm being snarky about Kash - 'fiesty little one, isn't he'.
There is no point in saying who I'm cheering for, is there ;)
Dear Chris Harris, you may have bitten off more than you can chew in a shoving match with Dallas. The look of shock on his face when he landed on the mat after Dallas's shove was priceless.
You leave James Storm alone you big meanie.
Before Don West was saying that AMW wouldn't fall for the taunting. Oh how wrong he was.
That was a nifty moonsaultish from Kash.
That was a long way to drop.
I love them but AMW can be dimwits sometimes.
Dear Chris Harris, it might be an idea to notice that your tag team partner can't actually lift heavy and Texan when he has a wonky back.
The Franchise finally realising the power of silence.
Dear Jeff, you aren't big enough to irish whip Abyss. Learn this the first time and don't try it three times.
I can feel every little x-division fanish nerve and mat-wrestling freak part of me disliking this match.
(accidentally missed the end of this. Should I catch it at a later date I will fill in the blanks.)
Hee at Trinity trying to moon the lawyer and Traci putting her hat in the way. "Who needs class when you've got ass" indeed.
Daniels v AJ Iron Man Match
I'm confused, I thought iron man matches were 1 hour long as standard. Never mind.
So excited.
And it was good. It's also a really good match for showing the contrasts of the X-division.
Plus I'm a blood freak so I'm happy. It's was quite extreme really, did AJ hit a major artery/arteriole or something.
Since this isn't a spoiler it can be outside the cut.
I must rave about how much I enjoy watching AJ Styles move. I know I always go on about how I like TNA because it lets me be all markish and screaming at the TV and I don't know about any backstage machinations and what-have-you, but, while I'm doing that I love the X-division because I can take one step back and admire the technique, and AJ's probably the easiest to do that with.
Even something like a dive over the top rope, you can see him stretching to reach the distance, and adjusting and it's just great to watch. It's a lot like watching a really good high-jumper.
Love how AJ's pin was totally opportunistic, it made sense in the context of the match.
Okay you knew the minute that Daniels demanded extra time that he'd lose. But you've got to role the dice if you want to win.
The title match
- I was expecting it to be a disappointment because, not wishing to be rude, Jarrett v Nash does not really stir the blood.
Also I was a little confused we had big guy who was usually in it for the money versus small(er) guy who would probably give his life's blood to win the belt and we're supposed to be cheering for the big guy? It's a little off. Okay so I was cheering for Nash because I am a Nash girl but still...
And yet, despite that, it was a good match. Even the ending, much though it drove me up the wall and yelling, worked because you had evil Jarrett outsmarting the opposition.
However, I am a cellist. I am extremely peeved at the treatment that cello go. Dear TNA if you have that kind of money to waste, please send the cello case to me, I have need of one.
That being said, it's one way around the rule. But destroying cellos is never right.
Was it DX reunion night and nobody bothered telling HHH and Chyna? 'Cause I've heard about interference but that was crazy.
The thing I really loved was the look on the Road Dogg's face when he took the belt off Billy Gunn, it was this fantastic long-suffering expression.
Re: the ending - my unreasonable gut reaction was still damn, damn, damn. Whoever does finally get that belt off Jarrett will get the world's biggest cheer I tell you.
See I feel better already.

Can I just express my utter love for Petey Williams
Yayayayay! More Petey luv!!!
Plus I'm a blood freak so I'm happy
LOL! You sick freak! Hahah, actually, yeah, that was one hell of a blade job AJ did. Usually, he doesn't bleed very well. He'd have, like, a trickle that'd stop three minutes later, but the last few bladejobs he did were pretty damn whoa. This doesn't make me all too happy though, 'cause AJ is one of those people whom I don't wanna see all bloodied.

YES!!! YES YES YES!!!! Isn't he just... god, I don't even have the words. He just moves so fluidly. Everything he does is GORGEOUS. He has crisp lines when he moves, that's what I love about him.

HAHAHAHAHAHA >.< !!!!!!!! I didn't even watch that match.

Date: 2005-04-13 10:47 pm (UTC)I could rave about most of the X-division but with AJ it's just so wow.
You didn't miss much. That's just me being mean. It was a good match. There was a certain thing I hated about it, but that's 'cause I'm a cellist. Just the end with all the interference got a little silly, what with Billy Gunn coming in to interfere, Road Dogg stopping him, random X-pac reappearance in Nash's favour and then Billy Gunn again, I think.
