I'm at uni because I still can't get on to the shiny broadband in my digs. I'm kind of pissed off at the world since I only got a 2:1 on this last set of exams (yes I know that a 2:1 isn't too bad but I wanted a first damn it. Must work harder.)

Green Day were on Top of the Pops with Holiday and were fantastic.

Oh and I've put another chapter (chapter 3 of 5) of my X-men fic up at fanfiction.net - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1660989/3/

My mum whinged about Green Day. I think she preferred McFly and GAH, really, because Green Day were great and I just beamed all the way through it. Then again, my mum only watches Top of the Pops to whinge about the things she doesn't like, which is pretty much everything.

And y'know, I'd be happy with a 2:1... looks like I'm heading for a third, if I even pass. My own fault, but still, not good!

Green Day are one of those bands that parents aren't designed to like. If they did I'd think there was something wrong. Watching TOTP with someone who hates all the bands/groups on it like your Mum or my Nan is actually the best way to watch it. If I'm defending a band I like I can avoid thinking of the dreadful hash Andi Peters has made of TOTP.

That's the thing I know my complaining sounds really arrogant and dimwitted but it's an unfortunate part of my mental make-up.

And you will pass (sends happy vibes)

Ah, now there's where you'd be wrong! Because my dad likes Green Day. My dad has all the Green Day albums in the CD player in his car, actually. Then again, my dad has slightly scary taste in music for an almost 50-year-old man - Green Day, Pink, Travis, a bit of early Marilyn Manson... he frightens me sometimes. And I've learned not to argue with my mum over TOTP because all she does is tell me not to take it so seriously. Grr!

Nah, your complaining doesn't sound arrogant. It sounds like you're a perfectionist and I just feel the need to tell everyone I know that I'm failing my degree, it wasn't really a comment on, err, your comment ;)

Ooh, you have a cool Dad.

>>it wasn't really a comment on, err, your comment ;)<< right, now I get you.

I have a worrying dad. All he used to listen to was REM, and now he steals my CDs. He's thinking of buying a new car, too. I'm thinking "mid-life crisis, Dad?"

Sorry if it sounded like I was actually saying something like stop whinging, a 2:1's great - I really wasn't! I was using your comment as an excuse to talk about myself. Which isn't unusual for me, I have to say.
