HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU
Had lots of fun last night, went round to next door but one's and had a drinking/eating binge over there. Got back and was in bed by 5 this morning and got up for the New Years Concert from Vienna. And I have revised. Am feeling a little better, even if I wish family would stop telling me I'll be all right in the exams and that revision is going well, trust me, I'm the one revising, it is not going well. Also please mind not to mock my fear of failure.
Other than that I'm happy and shiny.
Told Mum about the missing jewelery. She didn't kill me, mainly because she has the same suspicions I have as to where they've gone so she has come up with a plan, I just have to buy two more necklaces to replace the ones that have gone missing. Expensive but less trouble than Nan finding out.
1.What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Nothing much unfortunately unless living in a house that I don't share with family and fending for myself (kind of) counts. Been on TV.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can't remember my new years' resolutions from last year which makes me think I broke them. This years is to drink less, keep up with my work and actually wake up in the mornings.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Not as far as I know, but don't presume no one has.
4. Did anyone close to you die? Luckily no.
5. What countries did you visit? Austria. It has not been a traveling year.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
Nothing really, I've had a good year.
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? June 11th, July 3rd and 5th, uni challenge, shows 1 and 2, and then my driving test. Also this is a really difficult question to answer since I suck at dates.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
74% overall pass of my first year or my driving test pass.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Let's not discuss the uni challenge second round.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just the usual colds and a foot strain, I now know why you're heel lands first when you're fencing.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Fencing kit.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Mum for not going kill crazy, Colin for putting up with us. Nisha for putting up with me.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
NufandSam, bread-stealling thieves. Ah no one really. Mine re: the whole Halloween thing.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Food and drink. I should drink less.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Fencing competitions, fencing in general, the whole Amnesty International thing. Especially the Christmas card campaign, I was far too excited over 60 Christmas cards. Oh and seeing Franz Ferdinand.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Probably American Idiot by Green Day.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Happier, except the present exam nerves.
ii. thinner or fatter? - Thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? - Overall richer, money I can get at poorer but only slightly. I will work out where that 100 pounds went.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Work, notes writing up, reading round.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
I'd say drinking except I enjoy the people I talk to. Whining and complaining would seem to be good items for this list.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the family, having fun.
22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Oh yes. That should probably come under very bad things, but since I will actually be doing anything stupid re: trying to get him next year I don't know if it could. But I'm thinking, everyone is allowed to make a fool of themselves over love once, right?
23. How many one night stands?
None.
24. What was your favourite TV programme?
CSI probably. Not watched an awful lot of non-sport or pseudosport TV.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No.
26. What was the best book you read?
Good Omens without a doubt.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight.
28. What did you want and get?
Driving licence.
29. What did you want and not get?
A decent mark in biochem.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Might well be Van Helsing. Okay, no it's not that good. I'm actually trying to think of a decent film that came out this year and blanking. At least I enjoyed Van Helsing.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
19 and I seem to recall going to Mr. Chan's and having a meal with the family. And guess what I'm doing again tomorrow.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Adam asking me out. Damn I sound like a lovesick teenager. This must stop at 12:30 tomorrow because then I will have no excuse. I've heard about late development but this is ridiculous. Do I get brownie points for realising this whole kooky love thing is ridiculous?
Other than that winning Uni Challenge, or winning the BUSA novices or winning at least one match in the BUSA women's team league
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Black made a comeback. As did the menswear. More skirts though.
34. What kept you sane?
Unfortunate amounts of alcohol, good friends and stabbing people.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Batista - unfortunately he's hot.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Iraq war, US elections, local elections, still no clean up at Bhopal. Lets just say that AI is not an organisation to join if you don't like getting angry at the sheer unpleasantness of a lot of the world.
37. Who did you miss?
Sally, I could have done with her around. Sam and Chris.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Collapsing Dan and Penzey.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Just do it. Really my words to live by.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year
I'd say the Friends theme tune except I've had a good year but I've had great friends that have helped me out of the few bad points.
Now to finish printing out some lecture notes.
