I've actually finished Harry Potter fic, it's gen Snape fic admittedly, but it is done. The Last Ingredient - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2189981/1/

PG-13 gen fic set in Snape's third year.
Summary: Summary: When Mercator Snape dies suddenly a man from the Ministry of Magic is sent to investigate.

I've also realised why I find it easier to write Snape fic, and occasionally Sirius fic than Lupin fic. They both react the way I do, I snarl, sulk and lash out. Lupin doesn't, he does the opposite, so it's very difficult to write something semi-in-character if he's a main character. Isn't going to stop me trying though.

HOORAY. And <3. I like it. I envy your ability to write IC Snape.

There are definitely characters, I'd say, to whom it's easier to relate, and oftentimes that makes them easier to write. I find Lupin easier to wrap my head around for that reason--he's a lot more like me than most of the characters I've written, even the ones in the wrestling fandom I've written to death and understand on a character level better than I understand him.

Hell yeah, keep trying. Even if it's difficult, it comes out well in the end, so it's worth it.
