February happened to it, repeatedly. (The last two weeks of February appear to have happened to several RL people, even worse than it happened to me. At least I just feel like I'm one week behind with everything.)

It looks like March and April will also happen to it, but I will try.

The most important news is that the hip soreness was/is probably just a strain or sprain (undoubtedly not helped by the stomach muscle strain that I picked up just beforehand) rather than anything more serious. You can imagine what I was imagining, but I suspect neither of the obvious forms of arthritis calm down within a month and ease off significantly after a good night's sleep following a skipped session. I am reasonably zen about it if it is the first stages of osteoarthritis because my hip doesn't fit together properly, never has, and therefore I've always known I am at greater risk.

I don't think that a total revamp of my squat technique helped, because different bits of the muscle around my hips are now doing the work. I think that's what caused the original twinge, but everything is calming down now, and I'm able to do hanging leg raises again, and there's been a post-lockdown squat PB.

Deadlift also coming back, probably helped by finally being able to use the Oly plates again. It's amazing how much easier lifting those are than the fixed weight bars.

Getting bench space remains difficult, but looking pitiful has encouraged some of the bigger blokes to remove unused but >50 kg weights from various bits of kit. I am also now on "oh hello" terms with some of the other regulars which is always a plus. (And means I now know what the thing that looks like a milkmaid's churn carrier is - https://barbend.com/safety-squat-bar-benefits/).
