Politics and RL
Nov. 12th, 2016 05:55 pmToo much politics too close to bed leads to some pretty weird dreams. Like one where I'm Jeremy Corbyn's spin doctor. Yeah, no, I have no explanation either.

Is it still schadenfreude if they started it?
I ask only because I've sworn off schadenfreude but stuff in the lab is giving me the urge to go 'na-na-na-na-nah'.
Basically, some molecular biology was not working. So it has been taken off me and given to two of the PhD students. Sneery PhD student may have communicated, in his usual lovely way, that this would be easy and the problem was me. And I will happily admit that sneery PhD student is better at science than I am. How unfortunate it is that he's having exactly the same problems I was having. Obviously, they were all down to me and have nothing to do with the thrice-cursed secondary structures both the DNA and the primers form.
Unfortunately nice PhD student is also having the same problems as me with the project that got given to him. But because he is nice to me, I feel bad for him (again, I suspect it's a DNA secondary structure problem).
