This weekend I am mostly cat-sitting

It is an Abyssinian and I think it hates me. But never mind, I am keeping it fed and watered, and occasionally accompanied. I am also plant-sitting for the same person, although I doubt they'll need watering today.

Owner of cat is from North America and likes cooking. She has a food magazine to hand which contains what appears to be a half-decent recipe for chicken paprika. Unfortunately, it is in American. What is a Dutch oven? (No sniggering in the back, please)

Day 11 - A Show That Disappointed You

Like a disturbingly large number of people on my f-list, I have to go with Heroes. Now for me, the let down was less than for several people because I gave up in the middle of season one.

The problem was this:

This show, with a fantastically interesting premise, was going to be shown on BBC2 which meant that my beloved Rome got shown double quick which meant I missed episodes of it. This was already a mark against it before it even began - yes, I know, do not judge before seeing but it'd have to be awesome to make up for that.

So I see the first episode, and there's a junkie artist who is interesting, and Hiro and Ando, who are love and a Cheerleader who is at least realistically freaked by her powers. And okay, it spends far too much time on whiny ambulance bloke, but I figure it's an ensemble show, and the next episode won't focus so much on him.

You might have gathered where my problems with this show started. I just couldn't stand Peter, and when the show decided he was their main character, I started to give up.

Also, it was boring, which is an unforgivable sin in entertainment. I stopped watching half way through season 1.

Plus they tried to explain the "science". That's always a bad idea, because the science behind that kind of thing is traditionally rubbish.
