Fencing and the Olympics
Aug. 7th, 2008 08:18 pmThanks to all the fuss and kerfuffle about the men's draw in the tennis for Beijing (I see nothing wrong, Miryni v Bjorkman can still be the final, life is good), it meant I looked up the fencing draw. In the men's sabre it does look like Poznyakov is going to cheat his way to another title (yes, that's crossing and no, that's not a compound attack), in the women's foil someone I've fenced is in the Olympics, so I shall have to cheer her on (she wiped the floor with me, but was really nice), the smart money is still on Vezzali, who will be even more legendary if she managed to win ... again. And in the men's foil, Richard Kruse has an unspeakably evil draw (unless Joppich self destructs again).
