Um, yeah, you might have noticed a lack of comments re: Who lately, but that's because I wasn't home to watch Blink or Utopia. I have been assured I shall be terrified to death by the first and love the second though.
I did watch "Human Nature" when it was on (both parts) and well, um, I um. Well I really didn't like it as much as everyone else did. Not that it was bad, it was good, well set up, well shot, the music wasn't too bad but there was something lacking. I didn't dislike John Smith as much as other people seemed to, I was mostly thinking what a bang up job the TARDIS did of making someone who would fit in and not be noticed. I was also deeply amused by how Time Lordly the Doctor was when he didn't have his experiences.
I really liked the Nurse too, and the kidlet (who, my hasn't he shot up since Love, Actually). Also, Harry Lloyd now also joins most of the rest of the cast of the new Robin Hood as being a better actor than Jonas Armstrong.
But yes, despite what the Doctor did to the bad guys, I still just didn't think it was that good.
( Sound of Drums on the other hand )
Really so much love for this episode. I didn't see who the writer was at the start and so when I looked it up on-line I was both pleased and surprised that it was RTD. Because I love his episodes, but I seem to be the only one that does, so I love that one of his once again hit meteoric. He's not Moffat, but damn if he's not the second best writer on the staff.
Also things that were beyond amusing:
The Valiant looks just like Spectrum headquarters.
My straight-laced, serious, sensible housemate is now a raving John Barrowman fan.
That aforementioned housemate was making comments re: the slashiness of the Doctor and the Master and was most relieved when I assured her that this was normal for Dr. Who fandom and had been a running joke for a good 20 years.
( Things that say less good things about certain aspects of the lead character )
