I have a rugby icon
Feb. 10th, 2007 07:18 pmWhich might just give away who I cheer for. Um, better one coming as soon as I'm able to get better pictures, probably going to hunt through the bbc's pictures.
About the BBC, and in fact the general British media - I will not punch any of you, although several of you need to know that there are some of us who aren't English and would therefore like some semblance of fairness in your reporting. When Brian Moore, who I think is paid to be madly pro-England, is more impartial than you, I think you need to check yourselves.
Much love to Brian Moore though for voting for someone not on the winning team for Man of the Match, and much love for his summation of why, 'Troncon did things, not one of the England players stood out'. At one point, during the half time talking, one of the England players (not playing due to injury) was so over-confident that I would have paid good money to see England lose.
The fact is, England only win when Johnny Wilkinson playing. Without him, they're mediocre at best. Which is fine while he's still playing, but when he retires, I look forward to five years of misery for England.
Before anyone says anything about me being mean, I plead guilty to a hatred of the England rugby team and all its works (with a few exceptions) because they play lousy rugby, they're part of the union establishment that's kept the true game of rugby (league) pinned down for reasons of snobbery, and all the union journalists are a bunch of England supporting, biased, pantywaists.
Umm, I should probably put a rant warning there, shouldn't I?
