So how was my year - year in review meme )

This year's fic round up

Stories I wrote this year:
Tea and Wrestlemania - Molly+Regal gen fic for Missy
Never Underestimate Michael Cole - Post SD 9/6 (where Angle beat up Tazz) Cole gen
1 x X-men drabble for Lizzie
1 x Spiderman drabble for Joanne
Standing At The Doorframe - Benoit/Jericho fluff.
Clothes My Forefathers Wore - Sonny Siaki + Simon Diamond gen set when those two were partnered up against NYC.
The Primrose Path - First story of 4 all about Snape joining the Death Eaters and then leaving them. Gen with elements of het.
Suprise Night - Ric/Randy post 1/2/05 RAW
Don't Ask For The Moon - Dupree/Grenier fic set after the first lottery.
Changes Confronted - Rogue/Pyro for the XMM ficathon
First set of Fingertips challenge responses
The Withered Hand - Dumbledore + Snape gen set before HBP. Again first in a series.
The Withered Hand (pt 2) - Snape, Narcissa and Draco gen set immediately after the certain event in HBP
No Credit For Tchaikovsky - Tajiri/Noble fic for Lenac's 'hidden talents' challenge

Necessity - Nidia fic for the Factory Town AU
Running Late - Hay Daze set up fic also for Factory Town

And now, the actual meme:

My favorite story this year: Primrose Path, if only certain parts of it hadn't been jossed into infinity by HBP. Then again, I think with a bit of tinkering it will still work.

My best story this year: I still really like the Star Wars snippet I wrote for the Fingertips thing. It's the sort of fic I want to write more of. Short sentences, flashes of detail. No digressions.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Any of the Potter-fic because I got one piece of feedback between the 3 of them and they're better than some fics I get lots of feedback from.

Most fun story: Never Underestimate Michael Cole. Still a hoot to read.

Most sexy story: I have been writing a lot of gen this year so Don't Ask For The Moon probably wins this category.

Story with single sexiest moment: No Credit For Tchaikovsky - where Tajiri's hand briefly touches Noble's.

Hardest story to write: Don't Ask For The Moon, seriously, everything else kind of flowed, or flowed in fits and starts. That one, I was lucky when one sentence flowed straight out.

"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: Since I refuse to call Ric/Randy wrong (it's not I tell you, it's not), 'No Credit For Tchaikovsky' since it's Tajiri/Noble, even though I swear there was a tonne of mineable subtext there.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Probably 'Necessity', I mean I always knew where Nidia's character was going, because trust me, her arc is plotted out in my head, but that was when I realised exactly how much she wanted to and how ruthless she was going to be. There's a fic, 7 or 8 fics down the line, that I really don't want to write, and the main reason I don't want to write it is things that have come into focus from this.

Biggest disappointment: Don't Ask For The Moon - that should have been so much better. I'm still trying to figure out where it went wrong.

Biggest surprise: Necessity - I never thought I could pull it off, but people got what I was going on about and the why of Nidia and the worry for the future.

Most unintentionally telling story: Actually, very few of the characters in the fics got any of my bad habits or neuroses. The closest is probably Snape in Primrose Path.

And also my excuse for my hideous lack of output Uni has been kicking my ass, and I've been working on some stupidly long fics. And my unfinished or need tidying up pile is huge, so expect a stupid amount of fic this summer.
