Went to see Madagascar
Aug. 7th, 2005 03:28 pmWasn't as good as it could have been, but I still enjoyed. One question for anyone who knows any children that have seen it - did they enjoy it? I ask only because most of the jokes were pop-culturish and, for instance, I don't know even how many people my age would recognise the Hawaii 5-0 theme tune. (What, I found that bit amusing)
Great choice of 'I like to Move It' as the Lemur song.
Edit: Have to admit that I laughed when I saw that Hans Zimmer was chief musical bod. It seems so incongruous.
This was going to be a fun post about how happy I am about England (or rather Flintoff) beating the Aussies, and how ecstatic I am about Adam Nelson winning the World Athletics Championship gold for the shot put. He was the one that lost the Olympic gold on count-back and a very dodgy red flag.
But then I saw the paper this morning and read about Robin Cook dying.
I mean I wasn't his greatest fan but it's always sad when a politician with morals dies.
(For those who don't know Robin Cook was in Tony Blair's cabinet before the Iraq war and was anti-war. Rather than stay and complain, he resigned in disgust.)
