Sorry to journal-spam but I keep forgetting stuff.

Stuart Pearce was on A Question of Sport tonight. Admittedly I missed most of it but whee, I'm glad to see he's getting paid employment somewhere because judging by the state of the Manchester City defence he must only be working part time.

(English translation - Stuart Pearce was/is my favourite footballer ever. He was the best defender in England for quite some time and now works as the Man City defense coach. Man City's defence is notoriously bad.)

Didier Deschamps, another favourite, is presently managing a French team (possibly Monaco) which also makes me happy.

Talking about people I'm glad to see are still getting paid, what's this about Rutger Hauer turning up in Smallville. I know some people on my friends list watch aforementioned programme, so does anyone care to tell me who he'll be playing. Please.

Just watch TOTP, and having read the end credits the fall in production values, and the present stupidity of not playing the number one in full is indeed down to new producers. They are idiots.

Sean Paul was on, and yes, I now wish to declare that he does indeed rock. Plus the lyrics to 'Like Glue', they are the good filth. Like a Carry On film is filth.

However on the topic, Colin and Nan were complaining that they couldn't understand a thing that he (and several others) were singing. According to them this means that they are bad singers.

Yet when they can't understand an opera singer it's because it's high art.

(I am boggling)

Actually, I want to hug him for not toning down the patois. Stick to your guns mate.

On a similar topic, there's a local-ish pub called the 'Bird I'th Hand', or rather it was. Now it's called the John Bassell or something similar. And it's been painted orange. Would they stop doing that to pubs, it completely destroys local history.

On other topics, the new LJ layout is interesting. Have to admit my major problem is that the new toolbar scrolls sideways not down but hey that's a personal thing so all in all I'm liking it.

Laurence Llewellyn Bowen once again steals a show.

There's a programme on BBC 2 called Restoration - basically Building Idol. Anyway, he's the name promoting this one building called Llanelli House.

The celebrity has to do a speech about why to support their chosen building. Of course normally these are lousy (the best before tonight was Richard E. Grant championing Victoria Baths in Manchester)

Anyway so Laurence makes two sane reasonable points about why we should vote for Llanelli House, and then he comes out with this (or more or less this) - "And the last reason why you should vote for this building is because if you don't, I will buy it, paint it purple, cover the roof with bright pink fur and sell it to Kylie Minogue for £65 Million."

Very funny man. I mean I was probably going to vote for that anyway, but it may have swung my vote.

Actually, one of the co-presenter/expert types, called Ptolemy Dean, is almost out-Laurencing Laurence at times. He's crazy but fun. And really, don't even get him started on town redevelopments of the 1960s-70s.

I'll stop rambling now.
