Quite possibly because Lestat has a character and a spine unlike that feeble wimp Louis.

And at least he doesn't angst constantly. Plus the end of the book has Marius and I think I've fallen for him. Because he's wonderful. Even if Armand is still my darling.

Would someone explain to me why Armand, the brood king no less, doesn't annoy me but Louis does? I think it might have something to do with the fact that when Armand says he's sick of it he at least tries to kill himself. With zero success but the boy tries.

I can see now why people were up in arms about casting Antonio Banderas. But I love him to pieces so :P

Someone might want to shut me up before I start on a rant about the Celts actually having dark hair that they dyed blond (see Austria, Germany, Wales and Ireland) according to most studies.

Of course this fascination of the goodness of blond irritates the heck out of me so yeah, ignore me.

Another worrying thing is how all the women are "Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morning" (okay so I'm crossing books but it's a cool, and fitting quote). Really, the female characters are given next to no redeeming features.

Of course I will now see if I can purloin 'Queen of the Damned' from work.
