Vino won!!!
Jul. 14th, 2003 10:45 pmVinokourov won the Tour de France stage today.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy I could cry.
Of course he's the only rider who could win his first tour stage ever and on Bastille Day, and still get overshadowed.
On that note I would like to wish Joseba Beloki a full, speedy and easy recovery.
But yes, Vino won, and immediately dedicated it to his twin children. And then finding out it was Bastille Day he also dedicated it to France.

The past couple of days leave him second in the overall standings 21 seconds behind. Of course he will lose quite a bit of time in the time trial but it would be lovely to see him in yellow, even for one stage.
Tyler Hamilton is also still amazing, but you knew I was going to say that.
Edit- sorry about this, but here is a wonderful article about the stage that says what I want to say, but far better http://www.letour.fr/2003/us/index.html
