Just saw A Midsummer Night's Dream (the one with Rupert Everett) and it was good. Of course the words were brilliant (and whoever the writer was deserves many kisses for not messing about with the words), and most of the acting was suberb. Except for Lysander, which I'd like to blame on the character except I've seen the actor be lousy in other things.

The one thing that did surprise me was how good Callista Flockheart was. I mean Helena mostly comes across as a bit drippy, but she wasn't, she was loveable.

Oh and Christian Bale. Wow. Not only is he a good actor, but he's a bit of a darling as well. (BTW can I add Barry Pepper onto the list of actors too good looking for their own good, because yes.)

Rupert Everett was also superb, but the best performance had to be from Kevin Klein. He was magnificent.

Of course watching it intersperced with 'Summer of Sam' will do strange things to your head, especially when you then add 'Highlander 3' into the mix. Why they put a tonne of good films on at the same time is beyond me, I suppose they didn't think anyone would be interested in all three.

I did however see the strangest film this morning. It featured Hulk Hogan and he wasn't the worst actor in the film.

Actually he was one of the few things that made it watchable. Him, Robert Vaughn and Grace Jones (going wildly over the top but she is forgiven) were if not okay, then at least bareable. The dialogue was awful however.

And then there was the crazy Big Show cameo.

Oddness prevailed.
