Jan. 5th, 2003 11:15 pmSo I ended up watching 'Hornblower', which I do periodically. Really, between him and Sharpe, it's a marvel that Boney got anywhere.
I still say Sharpe is the better series, but this one at least had the advantage of some action.
Have I mentioned that I'm a historical action/fantasy action/ anything so long as it involves swords, muskets and ancient pistols whore?
This one was also blessed by the presence of Greg Wise (Mr. Whilloby in Sense and Sensibility) putting on the worst French accent ever heard outside of 'Allo, Allo'.
Won't be watching next week, it looks to be a 'Hornblower has relationship problems' episode. I could stand them in Sharpe because normally the chosen men were around to amuse me, but the chosen ship on Hornblower doesn't amuse me as much. Even with Paul McGann playing the sidekick role. Why they don't just call him Harper and get on with it is beyond me. Maybe because he's not as nice as Harper.
Wittering again. Sorry
