Okay, for all of you are able you must watch the Poirot that is on tomorrow, for the following reasons

1) It is new
2) It stars David Suchet
3) It has Marc Warren in it. Okay he normally plays skeevy, messed up characters but he's one of the best actors going. (Oh and he played Pvt. Albert Blithe in 'Band of Brothers' I think he was someone suffering from shell-shock)
4) It has Aiden Gillen in it.

Now those are 4 good reasons to watch something

There are no words to describe my love of Poirot, and I think you covered all the points that make me want to watch this new one ;) That and I don't think it's based on any of the Agatha Christie Poirot books (didn't they run out of them?), which is always a plus; Christie *really* annoys me.

And she was such a cheat! Y'know, there's no way you can really know whodunnit in an Agatha Christie book, 'cos she - and she admitted this - always left out one absolutely vital piece of information so that the reader just couldn't work it out. And she always had the hero bring all the suspects together at the end. Effective, but only until you've seen it done twenty-five times. *giggles*

So, yes, new Poirot! *cheers*

It is based on one of the books. As is next weeks. And they're making a version of Death On The Nile with him. I am a shameless David Suchet as Poirot fangirl.

They've still got another couple to go before they run out, the old dear wrote far too much.

But it wouldn't be a Poirot if everyone wasn't dragged together in a dinning room at the end ;)

*giggles* Oh, not only were they dragged into the dining room (okay, the lounge) at the end, but they were dragged out to the middle of nowhere to an abandoned house!

And yep, based on a book, but not a bad one ;) Oooooh, Death on the Nile - I love that one. The only one I ever read all the way through, apart from Murder on the Orient Express.

I am a shameless David Suchet as Poirot fangirl.

Oh, me too. He's one of those actors that seem slightly disconcerting in other roles 'cos you're so used to them in one in particular. Not that it's such a terrible thing to go through life being remembered for Poirot.

Murder on the Orient Express being as it is one of the greatest mystery books ever written. I love the fact that the murder gets away with it, and I love the Greek doctor. I'd love to see a Suchet version of it.

And he always takes playing Poirot so seriously, I think that's why it works. For all that Poirot seems intensly frivolous on the outside, he's a very serious man.
