It was interesting. I think we'll go with interesting.
2) What was your favourite moment of the year?
Toss up between "mug from the Merseyside", "third at the Lancaster Summer", "called up for AACC", "fireworks at Disney" and some of the moments from the Hadrian's Wall walk.
3) What was your least favourite moment of the year?
Various RL bad news and some people misbehaving which I'm supposed to fix but getting no support in the fixing.

I was mostly on track until I broke my leg.

Tidy flat (yes, I know I say that every year, but this year, I have a plan). Get a better handle on my finances. Once I'm allowed to, try to fence at least once a week and gym at least twice.
10) Did you fall in love in 2023?
No.

I think some of the fencers count, and I've gotten closer with some of my fencing acquaintances.

C. C is pretty damn cool. As are other C and S.

As per usual, I'm six-weeking this to cover the the second week of June to the end of July.
18) Did you travel outside of theUS UK in 2023?
Yes, to Germany and the US with work.

"Just" California
20) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2023?
Thankfully no.
21) Did you miss anybody in the past year?
Many people, mostly the old uni lot.
22) What was your favourite movie that you saw in 2023?
Blue. It completely blew me away. It is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

2023 passed me by musically, so resorting to wiki articles ... actually I still don't recognise anything except Flowers by Miley Cyrus.

None. That is also on the list, if only to cheer yet another D up.

I have been terrible and mostly reading old mystery novels on Project Gutenberg.

No, by choice, not just forbidden by leg.

31) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year?
I have been good this year. Mostly.
32) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2023?
"Yes, we will take it to the Friday meeting." Ladies and gentlemen, they did not, and it's now putting multiple projects 6 months behind.
33) Did you treat somebody badly in 2023?
Not deliberately, if I did. But I will try to be nicer.
34) Did somebody treat you badly in 2023?
No. People have been lovely, especially since the break.
35) How much money did you spend in 2023?
About the expected, with a few extra expenses due to the leg, and post-break yoghurt consumption. A yoghurt habit is more expensive than expected.
36) What was your proudest moment of 2023?
That work bigwig said, there is a problem, send [real name redacted], she can be trusted. Was it a nervous week of work, yes, but did it make me feel good, also yes.
37) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2023 and change something, what would it be?
Probably stepped to the right, not the left, at a certain point on Hadrian's Wall ;)
38) What are your plans for 2024?
Heal up in time for me to really kick on fencing season 2024-2025, which will also be my first year of veterans. Prizes for being old, here I come.

My favourite story this year: Probably Fireflies in New York, but Today When is in with a shout, for reasons explained below.
My best story this year: Going off hits received, Today When. Which also got me one of my favourite pieces of feedback ever on someone's bookmark notes "This is ridiculously lovely and just what my bleeding heart needed today. Seriously this is the exact kind of soft, precious wholesomeness I would expect and crave from Adam West's Batman and Burt Ward's Robin." Which given I wrote it when I needed gooshy, squishy fic makes me ridiculously happy.
Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I really can't complain, but I like Fireflies in New York a lot more than the hits it's got.
Most fun story: And Hailing From The Andromeda Galaxy, or "so what if Kris Statlander really was an alien". I remain sad they gave her a more sensible gimmick.
Most sexy story: Adrift in the Wreckage. What do you mean it's also the only sexy fic ;) I am a gen writer by way of thinking, a fact that is borne out by how many of my "never going to finish" pile are higher rated fics.
Story with single sexiest moment: See previous
Hardest story to write: Adrift in the Wreckage. Although that was partly due to hitting "oh heck, Sebastian needs to be Roderigo throughout most of this" when three quarters done. And then rewriting the ending twice.
"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: I wrote Bully Ray/Brooke Hogan fic. I blame Aces and Eights.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: None really. I think they're all quite solid fixed characters.
Biggest disappointment: The Night Raven and She Walks In Colours Everywhere both don't quite pop where I want them to pop.
Biggest surprise: People really liked And Hailing From The Andromeda Galaxy
Most unintentionally telling story: There's very little of me in these fics. Possibly the physical descriptions in Adrift in the Wreckage. They're based on the version I saw at the Corn Exchange many years ago. That version had Antonio and Feste played by the same actor which might be why I am not okay with fics that end with Antonio moping for eternity.
It was interesting. I think we'll go with interesting.
