On the plus side the white goop in the middle of the sore on my leg has gone, and I'm going see POTC with Sally tomorrow. I think I'm more excited about seeing Sally actually but hey, she's the one who ran off to another college.

On the minus side, I'm getting exam panicky, and it's getting worse. I'd also like this opportunity to state that if one more person goes 'oh Leicester' in a derisive tone when I say where I am going I will rip their throat out. I am well aware that it isn't one of the name universities. It is however the university that I liked the most once London was out of the running. If I had the finances I would be going to London. I do not. Therefore I fell back on the option that most suited me.

Of the universities I considered Leicester has - the second best curriculum,
- the nicest halls of residence
- a nice city bustle about it (Sorry I'm a city girl)
- the best train links
- a chance of a year abroad
- one of the better unemployment records

I made the choice for good reasons, I don't want to defend them to everyone. However putting them in writing has made me feel a lot better. Thanks for everyone's patience.

*hugs* I feel for you. I went to the University of Michigan at the Dearborn campus. Their main campus is in the city of Ann Arbor. I was accepted to both, but I chose to go to Dearborn because it cost less and because it was a smaller university, with smaller classes and more personal contact with professors. However, I often got sniffed at for not going to the "real" U of M, and that therefore I don't have a "real" degree from the university. I find that people who say these things to me are probably not bright enough to have gone to either campus if they went to college at all.

Good luck with everything :)

You have to go to school for your own reasons...I went to my first college for the sole reason that I couldn't decide and it was the farthest from home. Even if it's a bad reason, it's what you want to do. And none of those sound like particularly bad reasons.

As long as you like your school, that's all that matters. That, and that there are no roaches in the dorms.

Ta muchly. And next time someone says something like that tell them that it's the same uni that validates the course, and that it's grades that matter.

With me the problem is with friends who are clever than me. And random other people, but they don't both me as much.

I'm really happy that my reasons are well reasonable, I was starting to think I'd missed a step in the logic or somewhere.

Nope no sign of roaches. It'd be nice and toasty warm for them though. (Okay so the decent heating in the Halls was another reason)
