Firstly I'd like to say thank you to everyone on my friendslist for being darlings who don't post spoilers. You are all wonderful.
Haven't been so psyched about seeing a film since TTT.
Someone is in love with the blue smoke effect. But it was all to the good.
Yo Iceman, don't freeze poor Wolverine's hand, he's only just comeback from the frozen wastes. And he's not after your girl.
How good was Brian Cox as Stryker. I wanted him dead after his first scene. That was a compliment, I assure you.
And Magneto. I've always put him down as seriously misguided but trying to do the right thing. He's verging on the very, very seriously misguided. In other words, I might agree that he does bad things but I'm never going to say that Magneto is a bad guy. And is it me or is Mystique even more smoking in X-2? Plus she's very, very good at infiltrating stuff. I was so worried about her when Deathstrike came back into the office.
And thank goodness, they let Wolverine be lethal.
Whee, Colossus. He's about the only X-man who I would trust with a brood of kids. And on a more shallow note - he's cute. Plus it means there were three members of Excalibur in the film.
And Syren.
Bobby and Rogue were cute but, but, I am an inveterate Rogue/Gambit 'shipper. Since I first knew of the exsistance of all things X so that's what 11 years experiences they were against. But the kiss was so cute.
I realise what Pyro did to the police cars was wrong and stupid, but I can't say I blame him.
Also re: Pyro, it becomes more and more obvious that Xavier has more success with people who are either worryingly normal (the Summers) or have serious self-belief issues. When it comes to people with serious ego problems like Pyro it doesn't seem to work. Because I know I'd react better to someone telling me how bright and shiny I was rather than being constantly told off for showing off. Now I'm not saying what Pyro did was right, or that he's not an obnoxious brat (because he is), I'm just suggesting that kid gloves ought to have been used.
But the look in Pyro's reflection in the picture said a lot. Plus, wahey fire. (Sorry, childhood love of fire that has yet to die)
Nightcrawler probably deserves his own post but in short, he was wonderful, accent upwards. And they got the character.
Must admit, I thought the hail marys were an interesting touch. And they had everyone freaking out at his appearance, which was good for story purposes, even if I wanted to hit them and hit them hard.
And the scenes with Storm. They so sweet.
I thought I was pretty much immune to being shocked but the scene where Stryker wheeled his son in got me. I was angry which was either a good sign for the film, or a bad sign because I get this het up over things which are not real. I mean, from what he was saying, I thought Stryker had killed his son, but fuck I was not expecting that.
Then again this is a man who tortures little kids and prisoners so I don't know why I was shocked.
Of course I need the toilet half way through, and the water was not helping.
Dear Magneto, what you are doing is wrong, and is just as bad as what Stryker was doing. Cease and desist. Of course he knows that.
Deathstrike had an awfully pretty death scene.
The look on Wolverine's face when Cyclops disintegrated was brilliant. As was the Professor's. And the use of Psalms was fitting.
What the frell was that smile on the Professor's face at the end? Since I'm nigh on certain that I saw the outline of the Phoenix under the water I'm presuming it's that. But still to know that and not tell Cyclops... that's meanness of the first order.
I fear I am in the minority that doesn't find Bobby to be physically cute or attractive. Pyro didn't look like how I imagined him.
Oh and if Gambit turns up in the next film (if there is a next film) I want ringside seats for the fight he's going to have with Bobby.
