re: the nhl lawsuit there's also one against the wwe that's being appealed; definitely something to follow & keep an eye on (and also......... can't help but wonder whether linda mcmahon being in the cabinet slants things at all??)

ALSO Paris-Roubaix is the best most beastly race, esp if you love cool hardman rouleur types! All the tours are so heavily weighted towards the climbers & too many of the day-races are sprint-heavy. Idk there is just a special feel to the spring classics, right? I truly love the symbiotic relationship between cycling & journalism as well, so it's great to see a history of the mythic origins of this section! ♥

I think the lawsuits are important even if they're not won because it means people in charge can't claim they didn't know it was a thing.

I think that's what makes cycling cycling, that there are all these different types of race for different types of racer.

Definitely! One of the things I get sad about w/ women's cycling is that they really don't get a lot of variety in the calendar. Very few high mountains, very few paves, etc. I'd love a women's Paris-Roubaix, especially before Vos retires. It'd be an even greater tragedy if Pauline Ferrand Prevot never got to race it (bc god she's such a solid & dynamic cross-country rider; I bet she'd kill it). Idk wtf is up with the ASO like, literally you have a generational talent, from France with PFP and yet... they refuse to put anything into women's cycling.
