Being a good little fanthing, I emailed my MEPs about articles 11 and 13 of the "Proposal for a Directive on Copyrights in the Digital Single Market".
Of the 7 MEPs, I've had crickets from 3 (2 of which are explicitly UKIP, and 1 I think may be an escaped 'kipper), an out-of-office but at least acknowledging my email from 2 more and then actual replies from 2. In both amusing, annoying and not the slightest bit unexpected, the Tory that replied is the one that's actually taken my concerns seriously, the Labour MEP (who is, I suspect, from that era when Labour insisted on being wrong about everything) is not. I have tried to explain my issues, because it's not just a fandom thing, it's the potential for a chilling effect on satire/parody, but I doubt I will get a response.
