- Write down 10 of your favorite OTPs
- Put your IPOD/Media Player on shuffle. The number of the song corresponds to the number of the OTPs
- Quote a part of the song that you think has any similarity with the story of the couple
- Comment.
The 'ships are in no particular order
1 -- Trucks - 'It's Just Porn Mom'. Which is the world's most inappropriate song for everything. And I love it. But none of it fits.
2 -- Jameson 'True' - which is uncannily apt in places. Unexpectedly so. For instance 'Momentary pleasure got me feeling long time weak!', is well, terrifyingly accurate. I also like "who says I never meant to do this,
we've been through this before!"
Because, yes, well, yes.
3 -- Bryn Terfel's version of 'Oh Shenandoah'. - 'Away, we're bound away.' Which isn't them, but is very much their situation.
4 -- Dolly Parton's 'Jolene'. Which really doesn't fit them, or either of them individually, but 'But I could never love again
He's the only one for me.' is pretty much the truth for both of them.
5 -- Maximo Park 'Apply Some Pressure' - Nothing really, but 'The everyday is part of what consumes me
The hate I feel is part of what fuels me' is a very Bram line.
6 -- American Hi-Fi 'Flavor of the Weak' - is a boy/girl song. No part of which fits these two.
7 -- Franz Ferdinand 'I'm Your Villain' - 'I'm Your Villain' should work, except it doesn't, because they do make each other laugh so the closest line 'If I could laugh I'd love you
If I could smile at anything you said
We could be laughing lovers
I think you'd prefer to be miserable instead' really doesn't work, and neither does, 'If I could love I'd love you' because not being able to love is not either of their problems.
8 -- Jay-Z '99 Problems' Which again really has nothing that works.
9 -- The Kooks 'Crazy', their cover the Gnarls Barkley song. I'm torn between 'Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space' which is very Ivanova, while 'My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them', is the most gloriously Marcus Cole line ever.
10 -- Sugarcult 'Memory', again, not really but 'This may never start.
We could fall apart
And I'd be your memory.'
This time, the usual mp3 player magic just didn't work.
