I have to say that I watched this week's episode under disadvantageous conditions. I was hella cranky so I might not be being completely fair.
That being said, this was a particularly uninspiring Impact.
I've discovered that being unnecessarily mean to Spud is my red line for heels. I wanted to go up to Austin Aries and go 'you, sir, are a cad and a bounder,' which I think was the intention, so I'm not going to complain about them.
But everyone else.
It's like the Magnus 'n' Mickie vs Storm 'n' Serena match. It's supposed to be this big match in an intense feud. It's Mickie James's one last match. They don't seem to have mentioned this to anyone but James Storm who is desperately trying to inject tension into the match by being mean to Mickie.
Of course the forces of evil are hoist by their own petard and all is right with the world, and then there's a lovely DDT from Mickie to James Storm and all is right with the world, but it could have been so much better.
Why does the challenger for the World Title get to set the match stipulation? I know the answer is 'because Bully Ray said so,' not that we saw him saying it, but I find myself agreeing with the bad guys in this. Dear TNA, why do you keep making me agree with the bad guys.
I keep forgetting how charming Jeff Jarrett is when he's not being Jeff Jarrett (TM), and his acceptance speech made me smile.
