I'd be happy to see a Star Trek show on tv.
It's not just that it's been 10 years since the last one, it's also that Enterprise felt strangely retrograde for a Star Trek show, because it was the first set during a time before the previous show, and it's was curiously reactionary in its views (see also Archer threatening to space someone out of an airlock, which is behaviour unbecoming a Starfleet captain).
We've come ahead in science and I want to see how people want to write Star Trek now, even if I'm worried the present trend for grim dark will lead to bad things. (I am pro-grim dark in the right places, Star Trek is not the right place.)
It struck me while I was watching 'Into Darkness' that I wanted the ethical dilemmas behind McCoy defrosting Khan's people, and the pleading for Khan's blood to save Kirk, and the diplomacy over what to do with Khan's people (and the fact that Khan actually won 'Into Darkness', that little detail seems to have escaped JJ Abrams et al.). I wanted all the things the film didn't have time to do (or didn't want to cover).
