Death Note Volume 3

The plot thickens.
Resolves the cliff-hanger from volume 2, where Light and Misa are locked up under suspicion of being the Kiras. Which they are, but then plot occurs so they lose their memories.
Of course L isn't fool because ... at this point all logic has flown out of the window, but then again, it's a story with gods of death so I can't really complain about sudden superhuman detective skills.
Most of the plot of this volume is filler. Well not exactly filler, but it's job is to allow the main characters to show their personalities, particularly Misa, Light and Detectives Matsuda and Aizawa.
I'm not sure what I liked more, Light and Misa's reactions to L handcuffing himself to Light, Matsuda getting way too into his character as Misa's manager (and Mogi's terribleness at the same role), L and Misa's interaction or Rem's somewhat "unique" way of warning Misa.
The other interesting thing is getting to meet Light properly because in volume 1 we meet him just as he's picking up the poison chalice, or notebook rather, and a lot of the end of book 1 and book 2 is him doing ever worse things to avoid detection. But this guy, he seems alright when he's not having his fatal flaws acted upon (because this is only going to end in old-fashioned tragedy). He's clever and straight-forward and believes in justice and he and L could be twins (except I think, or hope at least, that L could resist the death note) and it's going to be interesting to see his reaction to finding out that he is Kira, which he already suspects he might be.
I want to know how Light plans on getting his death note back because Higuchi was using Misa/Rem's note. I want to know what he did with it. I have no doubt his plan will work but ... oh, this is going to be interesting.
