Given how badly I was expecting it to go, I can live with 1-1. I was really expecting it to be ~ 0 - 2 to Spain.
That being said, oh I love you, Gigi. And Tony Christmas (thank you BBC radio for that silly nickname for DiNatale).
Looking at Slaven Bilic has made me realise that World Cup '98 was 14 years ago. There's too many of these coaches I remember as players.
And then on the other end, you've got Trappatoni, whose first international was 1962.
Of course, if your team score in Posnan, there's only one celebration you can do :)
I have no idea which part of Ireland is from, but I'm not sure if Jim Beglin is being deliberately against anything Ireland do because he doesn't want to be accused of bias or because he's miffed that NI didn't qualify.
Also, Jim Beglin, just so you know, if you continue to be mean about Shay Given, I will curse you something rotten. And my curses do work eventually. There are reasonable criticisms that can be made, but Beglin's are just mean.
See also, complaining about people being out-jumped by Mandzukic, when he's basketball player height and Richard Dunne isn't.
As much as anything it's that he's really not giving a decent (if, in the person of Schildenfeld, hideously dirty) Croatian side their due.
It must be said that, despite the loss, the only thing you can hear in the stadium is The Fields of Athenry.
