Day 1
I know he's a massively paid footballer, but that shot of Szczesny watching the penalty save (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXpSiIvCCNM) made me love him because he's so human. Well played that substitute. That being said, dear BBC and ITV, if we could get a pronunciation of Szczesny sorted. Notice I'm being lenient, I'm not even asking for the correct pronunciation. When it comes to Tyton, I'm going to expect consistency and it being correct because it's not difficult and you're getting neither of those.
George Samaras continues to be ... ineffective.

Dear Russian players, it's nothing personal, it's just that V would kill me if I didn't cheer for the Czechs.
Also, given how well Arshavin, Pavyluchenko and Zhirkov played, it suggests the problem is with English football, not with them. And yes, in the case of two of them, I am unutterably biased.

Day 2
If you have the time, watch this bitlet about the Denmark Euro '92 win - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18369750
Re: Names - I probably hadn't hold out too much hope re: the Polish names given the issues the commentators are having with Willems, which is such a difficult name /sarcasm
Clarence Seedorf continues to be the only person talking sense, pointing out that to win you need the best team, not the most superstars. I also love that he admits that he'd far rather be out there playing.
My heart also belongs to
1) Dennis Rommedahl, 33 years young, still a flying winger, saying that he sees himself carrying on for another 8 - 9 years.
2) Johnny Heitinga for basically refusing to watch the last world cup final and generally refusing to accept it happened.
The Netherlands have the right idea, if you're good enough, you're old enough.
I think Denmark are running on the power of positive thinking.
I forgive Martin Keown for bias on the topic of RVP but that his co-commentator is also falling for the 'no, the now 3 times RVP has smacked DAgger in the face have all been accidental' is annoying.
I really don't like him but I wish the commentators would stop picking on Nicklas Bendtner.

One day I will have it explained to me how Philip Lahm, by far the worst player on the German team, is the captain.
It must be said that being a Dad seems to have calmed C. Ronaldo down.
Mario Gomez, and indeed the rest of the German front line, is going to turn grey those parts of my hair that Italy haven't already attacked.
Both teams are resorting to the higher cheating.
I did love the tone of scorn the commentator (Guy Mowbray) used when saying that Neuer's idol growing up was Jens Lehmann. Apparently you can tell.
Also, boos are measured in comparison to the boos directed at Ronaldo.
I will give the BBC this, unlike ITV they understand that there are people who are not interested in England, or not primarily.
Well done occassionally-super-Mario.
I <3 Miroslav Klose. So he's about to come on for Gomez, and Gomez scores. Coach cheers, and tells Klose to sit down. He does, smile on his face and a thumbs up for Gomez.
