The Government have finally seen sense and are upgrading the train stations in the UK that come in the bottom ten on customer satisfaction surveys.

I am amused to find that of the 10, 3 are on my normal journey home, another 2 are places I have visited on my way home and yet another is one I could travel to. Yeah, North West Trains really did a number on us.

I am both happy, because Crewe and Preston (Preston would have come bottom of my list) definitely need it, although it will be tremendously disruptive of my coming home, and sad because, especially in the case of Manchester Victoria, I fear that it will lose something. I don't know what that would be, but I know I love the dear old station enough to set a fic there (Paris, Manchester - http://redfiona99.livejournal.com/431567.html) so yeah, if anyone wants to actually see the setting, go to the first link I posted.
