The Stupidity Was Worked Around

I'm a bit grrrr! about the fencing, basically, Ruth is the Women's team captain and can't come to the match tomorrow, and the rest of the senior girls are also only probablys, including me.
So far, no bad. Except she seems to think me saying I'm highly unlikely to be able to come means I am coming and has named me temporary Captain. And has told everyone to ask me about it. No big, I can handle. Anyway Tig wanted to know if she was needed for sabre, so I asked Ruth and she said we had plenty but Tig's the best female sabreur in the club so you know, it was up to me. So I asked Claire, who'd definitely be there if she minded and she said no, that would be fine, so I told Tig that she could come if she wanted but not to get into trouble for cutting classes.
Anyway, so we have enough sabreurs so I wondered if we have enough foilists. So I asked Ruth and got this fantastically passive/aggressive attempt at guilting me into going as a reply. So I annoyed and worried about whether we have enough foilists.
